Movement II is Here!
Divine Intervention is here!
If you already own Dodecahedriverse, you can download it right now. I've reorganized the files into a single .zip file, so just download that and Extract All to get the new pdf of Divine Intervention (along with Let There Be Light and Theogenesis).
Divine Intervention works from the same fundamentals as Let There Be Light, and it can act as a continuation after Movement I ends. You use the same Gods, created with Theogenesis. Rather than making a world wholecloth, you start with a set of Aspects that make up a World Deck that you will shuffle and draw from, providing a limited selection of things to change each turn. You act either Directly or Indirectly, sometimes picking a specific action and sometimes rolling to pick a random action. Aspects will get to act too - you'll also be rolling the dice and speaking from them. Eventually, things will boil over into a Crisis, where you and your fellow gods vote on the fate of the world.
This game is a longer, crunchier, and honestly a little messier entry in the series. You have 12 different actions of varying complexity. It could also last longer, as there is no equivalent to the free will clock of Let There Be Light. There are a few more ambiguities in the rules, though I think I successfully ironed most of them out..
My hope is that Divine Intervention will be a good scaffold of history, myths, and fables on the worldbuilding of Let There Be Light. I'd also be interested to see it played as a faction-game taking place over the course of a grounded campaign (think how Microscope or Stars Without Number was used in Counter/Weight). This game took so many iterations - I've written probably six different versions of over the last few years.
I wouldn't be surprised if I come back to Divine Intervention with some revisions in 6 months. I'm happy with it, but it's definitely the most intricate design of the trilogy.
Anyways, now I can move on to Movement III, the finale. Stay tuned - it's a hell of a game!
